What is a collagen-boosting ingredient? How does it work? Who is it suitable for?

As we age, skin laxity and facial wrinkles begin to appear more, caused by a decrease in collagen production over time. The Sculptra program is another option for those who want to stimulate collagen production in the skin, creating a complexion that looks plump, smooth, and firm, like in our youth.

Today, we will help everyone understand how Sculptra works to stimulate collagen production in the skin. We will also recommend skin care methods before and after treatment for beauty and to ensure safety from various side effects.

What is Sculptra? How does it work?

Sculptra is Poly-L-Lactic Acid (PLLA), a substance that stimulates collagen production in the skin layers, making the skin appear plump, firm, and smooth like a baby's skin with new collagen generated beneath the skin. The product was developed by Galderma and is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (U.S. FDA).

PLLA is injected into the deep dermis.Subcutaneous tissue This will then stimulate macrophage cells, which are a type of white blood cell, to react around the substance. PLLA undergoes an inflammatory process at the cellular level. Once the reaction is complete, the PLLA is broken down into water and carbon dioxide, which are then eliminated from the skin through the circulatory and lymphatic systems as part of the body's natural processes. The final result of this reaction is the production of new collagen, which makes the skin appear plumper, firmer, and more youthful.
